A DAY OUT IS A DAY GAINED IN NATURE

1

Sometimes when I am called back to look around, it feels amazing.

I’m talking about nature and the natural beauty.

It’s all verdure, the pure fresh greenery in a sweet morning that calls me back. It says, ‘I NEED YOU’. I am surprised to hear that!

I always said that to you. How come you said back, today!

I need you more than you do. I vouchsafe, my avowal standing in you is this, ‘I NEED YOU. I LOVE YOU’.

I am so farthest from you, however closer you are trying to be. I cannot live without you. Still I have to struggle putting aside a suitable time to meet you.

Don’t mistrust me, please.

Not that, I never see you. I’ve always seen you.

I have seen you from the window of my living room.

I also have seen you from the window of a running car, from the window of a galloping train. You were receding on the canvas of a mythical artiste. I had to get there, in the midst of you all. But, I could not. I failed to be with you.

I wish I were some vagabond. I wish I had no fixed time for anything to do. I wish I were free.

Perhaps you know. One member of your big family, the big mango tree, lives by my living room. It has had the habit to softly knock on my window.

I always wanted to respond to the knocking. But I had no time.

You always told me that I had never hurt you being unresponsive.

You being so generous, the wonderful mother, you cared for me a lot though.

Last evening you sent two of your lovely children to invite me.

All day went so hot and dry, the evening so humid. People bathed in sweat and panted. But, I did not know you were so anxious for me.

The blossoming twigs of the mango tree had been crawling up and down the glasses of my window. I did not notice at first.

Then I heard a few thunderclaps in a row. I ran to unbolt the window.

No sooner did I push the window outwards than your children came in. Your ‘windy boy’ accompanied your ‘rainy girl’. They were so happy to invite me. Happier was I to welcome them home.

I could see them dance with the mango twigs. They were so tender; full of mirth and merriment.

The heat of the day ceased within moments. My room is now so delightful, so comfortable place to live. Happiness is everywhere.

Thanks to your children.

Spread the love
